The narrative must include detailed discussion of how relevant policies and legislation influenced the care provided and an evaluation of your own contribution to the persons care.Information has been passed down from generation to generation, through stories (narratives). Your narrative will be presented digitally using a choice of technology that you feel comfortable with. For example, you may choose to submit your narrative as a video or audio recording. You must support your work with a reference list/bibliography as appropriate. What do I need to do to pass? There is some evidence of an understanding of COPD and you have incorporated both ADL and biopsychosocial elements when discussing your patient’s care. The psychological impact was well explored, using evidence from literature.To improve your grades – although you have used many references, it was not always clear how they were related to the patient as they were often cited after discussing your patient for example ” respiratory careteam skill mix provided the basis for optimisation of lung function and resolution of symptoms”(Nicol and Hollowood, 2019). An alternative approach of addressing the skill mix and then evaluating it using the evidence would be less descriptive. For example -the effective use of the respiratory skill mix, demonstrated through….. is supported by Nicol…( ) findings however this was limited by….The use of the MDT and skill mix was not evidenced in your narrative – how did the team work together – this would have been a good opportunity to evaluate the role of the nurse and of your influence in the care ( this is a threshold expectation and was omitted).The social aspect was a little vague – consider what support groups you could have referred this patient to – again this can be evaluated in terms of appropriateness during acute phase of the admission.I would suggest more in-depth understanding of COPD is needed as the exacerbation was not secondary to chest pain but to a chest infection and your explanation of oxygen titration was muddled. Your submission was 18.30 minutes long and therefore the last 2 minutes cannot be included in the marking.Over all I can see that you have tried hard but you have not yet met the threshold expectations.
