DescriptionWrite E-mailAs you learned in Week 2, Emotional Intelligence (EQ) should be aligned with organizational communication at all levels of an organization. During times of stress in an organization, employees often are concerned or worried about their jobs and/or responsibilities or some type of change that may occur which could affect them. Leadership should provide an open line of communication that provides accurate information about a situation but also delivered with EQ.Assume that you are the owner of a small manufacturing company with 200 employees. Due to a slow down of the economy, you will have to lay off 10% of your workforce. This lay off may be temporary but you cannot be sure. The employees affected will receive two weeks of severance pay and continued medical benefits for two months and they would be eligible for unemployment benefits. They would be considered for rehire, should the opportunity arise.Write two versions of an email informing those affected employees that they will be laid off effective immediately. This email is coming directly from you as the owner. One version will include just the basic facts about the layoff and that they are affected. One the version will include the facts but written with EQ in mind. Be careful not to add to or imply there are any additional benefits to be given.Include a Subject Line and enter verbiage to indicate what the email is about.Submit both versions on a single Word document.
