DescriptionBritish, American and European romanticism each differ from each-other in important ways. Working with two of these traditions, choose a text from each and compare them, emphasizing what makes one different from the other, according to your own understanding of romanticism. If you take this option, your research needs to include at least one source on romanticism, and once source each focusing on each of the texts you’re working with for a total of three. This essay will require that you do some research. You should cite at least three secondary sources or pieces of writing that you’ve found by using the HCC or other academic library to research your topic. . If you are unfamiliar with incorporating research in your writing, I have included a page in this module to guide you through that process. Now, once you’ve got your chosen text, you’ve picked a topic and you’ve begun doing research, here’s a breakdown of what the paper should look like when it is completed: First paragraph: Your first paragraph should introduce the topic in an interesting or compelling way. This can be done with an anecdote, or you can just dive in and start discussing the topic. Whatever you do, remember that you have to clearly present all relevant information to the reader. If you are analyzing a text, introduce it properly. The paragraph should end with a thesis statement, which clarifies not only the text you will be analyzing, but also what issue or concern you will be focusing on within the text, and an argument about the value of this focus. When you start out writing, the thesis may be sketchy, but as you write the paper, you need to think back to the thesis, and develop it in accord with where your paper takes you. Every paragraph after the thesis should support and clarify some aspect of the thesis. Body paragraphs: Any paragraph after the first and before the conclusion is technically a body paragraph. You should use every body paragraph to support the thesis. Body paragraphs start with a topic sentence, and they typically cite at least one quotation from either your primary source (the work of literature you are analyzing) or a secondary research source from the library that you are using to better understand or contextualize the primary source. You may also need to use two. It is important to keep in mind that your should not start a paragraph with a quote, or end it with a quote. The quotation should come somewhere in-between, so that your voice is the most prominent voice in the paragraph. Conclusion: You don’t need to re-state the thesis in the conclusion. Just do your best to use the conclusion to explain why it’s a good and appropriate place to end the paper, OR to point the reader in another direction–some other topic that might naturally follow from the conclusion of your own argument. Requirements: Final paper should be at least 1200 words in length, it should formatted in MLA style and should include direct quotations from your primary sources (the course readings that you are choosing to analyze), and at least one direct quotation from each of the three secondary sources as well. can choose from these texts;William Wordsworth’s “Preface to the Lyrical Ballads”William Wordsworth’s “Tintern Abbey”Kate Chopin’s “The Awakening”Chapter 36 of “Moby Dick”E.T.A.
