DescriptionThe final assignment consists of three parts that are interrelated:a. a substantial piece of personal mathematical work in number-algebraic reasoning demonstrating development of personal mathematical knowledge; Diagrams may be hand-drawn and equations hand-written then photographed and inserted into your word document or pdf. I’ve chosen the problem please find in PPT. This part must reflect on how I solve this problem? Try to find more solutions. Must be presented in detail. (equivalent to 1000 words)b. Reflections on your engagement with part (a)s mathematics. This might include: why you were interested in the initial question, different ways you approached making sense of it, how you interpreted the words and diagrams given and how you represented it for yourself (and how this changed your thinking), what connections you made with other mathematical problems and with experiences of teaching and learning, how you felt when you were working on the problem and difficulties you may have had. Finally, write about the relation to a question to research or investigate (in Part c) coming from these reflections (1500 words)c. a response to the question posed in part (b) using a synthesis of research or culture or philosophy or other intellectual area You will identify a question or issue about learning, teaching or developing mathematics that is clearly related to your work in a) or b). You should use selected literature, knowledge from the course sessions and your work in parts a) and b) to discuss what has previously been known or debated about this question and how you respond to those arguments from the point of view of a teacher of mathematics. (2500 words). Please refer to the assignment guideline and ppt where I’ve presented the maths problem I chose for this paper. The Research Question: Is improving habits of thinking an way to support algebraic reasoning? — Using Rigorous mathematical thinking (RMT) as a framework to reflect on developing one’s algebraic thinking The reading must be critically engaged and incorporate with reflection on my own experience of solving this maths problem. Then, we need to extend to inspiration of class room teaching. How to support pupils’ algebraic reasoning by implementing RMT and improving their habits of thinking! 13 reading must be included as reference. Please pay additional attention to Habits of Mind (Cuoco)!
