Why is it important to select research that meets these criteria?Re: Topic 5 DQ 1Evidence-based practice (EBP) is an approach to health for the health professional to use the most appropriate information to make clinical decisions for individual patients. EBP involves complex and conscientious decision-making based on available evidence and also patient characteristics, situations, and preferences. Working as a Unit Nurse Manager, one of the biggest concerns is the nurse-to-patient ratio resulting from nurse shortage. This leads to burnout syndrome (BOS), which then leads to inefficient nursing care. Burnout causes mental health issues for many nurses; it is chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. These factors trigger poor nursing care to patients, as the nurses expectations are way past excessive based on the working conditions. In these cases, the nurses develop anger, exhaustion, and frustration. Evidence-based practice recognized that healthcare is individualized. The Theory of Bureaucratic Caring created by Marilyn Anne Ray says to improve patient safety and reduce medication errors.
